Timberline Workshop on the Go

Every once in a while, I complete a workshop and love it so much I squeal like a little girl. Turning 40 in May proves that I'm no longer a little girl, but this Timberline Workshop made me SQUEAL! Close To My Heart rocked the first two layouts below. I created the third, using the fabulous CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. Love, love love these layouts and can't wait to find the perfect pics to add to them.

New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the New Product Blog Hop featuring all new products from CTMH's Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book. Thanks for hopping over from Keeley Kirwan's blog. Remember, if you get lost along the way, you can go here for a complete list of hoppers.

I LOVE the new Idea Book. My absolute favorite paper pack is Timberline. The rich colors, the variety of B&T papers and of course the outdoorsy theme works perfectly for this mom of two boys. I created two cards that will likely become thank you notes to my dad, who always takes my boys to do the "manly" stuff my hubby and I aren't excited about: fishing, shooting BB guns and tracking animals.

Wishes File Pocket Card, p. 89

Wishes Name Plate Card, p. 18

Here are the products I used to create these cards, New Products are in bold:

  • Timberline Paper Packet, X7182B
  • Goldrush Cardstock (included in the Workshop on the Go, but not the Paper Packet), 1243
  • Catch You Later Stamp Set, D1580
  • Flight of the Arrows Stamp Set, D1578
  • Marquee Enamel Shapes, Z1961
  • Durables Triangle Studs, Z1928
  • Ink Pads (Bamboo, Z2103; Twilight, Z2160; Chocolate, Z2111)
  • CTMH Cricut Artiste Cartridge, Z1790
The Flight of the Arrow stamp set is sure to become a top "go to" for me. The background arrows on the first card and chevron background on the second card are from Flight of the Arrow. If you have any Cub or Boy Scouts, this is a MUST HAVE stamp set! I love the Marquee Enamel Shapes, but they were too bright white for this project. So, I inked them with the Bamboo mini pigment ink pad (from the Basics set, Z2503). The ink hasn't completely dried yet (I'll update that status tomorrow!), but the color totally works now.

Thanks for taking time to see my cards; I'd love it if you left me a comment! Now it's time to see the talented artwork from Krista Hershberger. Happy hopping!

ProPlayer Scrapbooking

Two active boys means lots of red, blue and black colors zipping around my house. I'd love to scrapbook pink, frilly things, but that's just not my life, and I'm pretty lucky so I'll deal!

ProPlayer is Close To My Heart's answer to my needs for boy paper. While these photos don't do the paper justice (my good camera's in the shop!), you can see how boy oriented, gamer, and fun these patterned papers are!

The first two layouts are part of the ProPlayer Workshop on the Go. The third layout is one I put together using the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 pattern book inspired by Jeanette Lynton. I used Pattern 02. I just love CTMH's "How To" series of layouts and card patterns!

Football Lanyards

Are you ready for some football?

The smell of leaves, the start of school, cooler temperatures and football all signify my favorite season, Fall!  Okay, so this year it was more like heat, earthquakes, hurricanes and floods that signified Northern Virginia's start of Fall, but whatevs.

Both of my sons are playing flag football this year, same team.  That means one practice and one game a week...Hoo Ya!  As a way to get to know the players and parents, I made these lanyards for the parents to wear.

Each player has a lanyard with their photo, shirt number and name on the front.  On the back, each child's name, jersey number and parents' names are listed in a table.  That way, when #1 scores a touchdown or #12 snatches a flag, everyone can cheer, "Go Alex!" or "Go Joshua!"  The schedule and coach's information is also listed on the back for convenience.  Then I laminated the cards, tied some plastic lace around it, added a few football beads and voila...team lanyards.  Just something simple, but all the other teams are jealous!  :)
